DeleteI was just wondering, when you wrote all the books, did you imagine all the characters with southern accents? Or just some of them?
ReplyDeleteHey Julianna, interesting question. Louisiana was colonized in a totally different manner than the rest of the Southern states so the accent is not really "Southern". There are so many variations of the New Orleans accent depending on what part of the city one is from. Arelia has more of a New York accent with a hint of Creole.
DeleteThe spirits all have Creole French accents. Lucus and Louis have slight Creole French accents (Lucus' is thicker).
In Oppressed all the characters were meant to be speaking a mixture of Creole and Parisian French.
