  1. Kira, I loved Oppressed! It was amazing like all of your books! I was just hoping for some Arelia, Lucus, and Louis action lol :P I absolutely LOVE Ivan/Louis! (((: haha, will your next book have some more of him? I loved reading about Cecile's life, but I think Arelia's is much more interesting :P anyways, thank you for another great book. (:

  3. I read all three of the first books in two days and I'm in LOVE with them! I can't wait until Oppressed is on Nook, but I'm already depressed because I have a feeling she's agreeing to let Lucas have stones in his passage to save Sabrina and that is just tragic! I hope they end up together!

    1. So happy you enjoyed it, Lesley! Isn't history stranger and more tragic than fiction? :P

    2. yes! History really is tragic. I looked up all the websites you listed at the end of the book to learn more. We have to educate ourselves so that we don't allow things like that to happen again.

    4. Oh my! I'm so happy that you took the time to research the sites. That's so cool. Yes, I agree education is VERY important and there is SO much all of us can learn.

Sadly, slavery is well and alive even today. Even, in the United States. I'm doing research and am thinking that I'll write an adult novel about modern day slavery.

  15. I am from Zachary, just outside of N'Orleans. J'dore Arelia! I love how the places are real and the timeline is historically correct. The ONLY problem I have is the end of Cecile's story... it all seems really rushed, as if you had to write it in a matter of minutes. Other than that, i love the whole series. My family has a Voodoo/Hoodoo background, so i enjoy the accuracy of the spirits. I can't wait for book 5!

    1. Hey Jeannie thank you so much for reading! I really appreaciate it! It's so cool that your family has a Hoodoo;Voodoo background.

Lol, a matter of minutes? I only wish I could write that fast. Actually, the end of the book took me the longest to write :). I scrapped it maybe 10 times.
That was the action part of the book. It was meant to be fast paced, shocking and open-ended. I don't think it would have had the same impact if it were long and dragged out :).

If there is a particular spirit you's like included in the series I'd LOVE to hear about them!!!!

      Thanks again for reading :)
